UC Regents Approve Strategic Leadership Role to Enhance Health System Negotiations

The president's authority would rise from $500,000 to $1,000,000, while the general counsel's authority would see a similar increase. Additionally, the chairs of the board and compliance and audit would be authorized to approve settlements exceeding $1,000,000, up to $2,000,000. This adjustment marks the first change since November 2008 and aims to prevent erosion of authority levels over time. The committee agreed to reassess these levels in three years, in July 2028.
