Miami-Dade County's Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust (CITT) made significant strides in improving local transportation infrastructure during its recent meeting on July 23, 2025. The board approved a key resolution for the Metro Rail Bathroom Rehabilitation project, allocating $576,723.80 to Delco Inovo Group Inc. This funding, which includes a contingency allowance and permit fees, will enhance facilities at Metrorail stations, with the project originally added to the five-year implementation plan in January 2016.

The approval came after a thorough discussion regarding the funding sources for previous renovations, confirming that earlier bathroom upgrades were financed through the People’s Transportation Plan (PTP) funds. The board emphasized the importance of maintaining updated records and transparency in project funding, ensuring that all changes are accurately reflected in future agendas presented to the Board of County Commissioners.

In addition to the bathroom project, the CITT also recommended the approval of a $22 million contract for construction engineering and inspection services. This contract involves four engineering firms and aims to streamline the management of various public works projects, including parking garage overhauls and elevator upgrades at Dadeland North. The board noted that this approach would enhance efficiency by allowing the department to initiate work orders without needing to return for additional approvals each time, as long as the projects are included in the approved five-year plan.
