The Miami-Dade County Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust meeting on July 23, 2025, focused on significant improvements to the Northwest Twelfth Street project, aimed at enhancing transportation infrastructure in the area.

John Favian and Miguel Soria from the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) presented details about the project, which stretches from the Dolphin Park and Ride to the Dolphin Mall. The initiative includes the construction of a new bus-only lane to improve connectivity between the park and ride facility and the mall.

Key features of the project involve widening the road and increasing capacity for left and right turn lanes along Northwest Twelfth Street. Additionally, the project will introduce a new drainage system, updated pavement markings, enhanced signage, and a modern lighting system. A significant aspect of the improvements is the addition of a shaded pedestrian and bicycle facility on the north side of Northwest Twelfth Street, promoting safer and more accessible travel options for residents and visitors.
