During the meeting, a commissioner raised alarms about the non-functional security cameras at the Department of Human Services (DHS), stating, "The cameras haven't worked there for over a year." This lapse poses significant safety risks, prompting calls for immediate action to restore the system. The commissioner emphasized the need for an in-house tech review to address the issue, highlighting the importance of reliable security measures in public facilities.

In another pressing matter, resident Marguerite Schreiber voiced her concerns about the lack of road markings on Highway 510, which she described as a hazard for drivers, especially seniors like herself. "There are no lines in the middle or on either side," she explained, stressing that these guidelines are essential for safe navigation. Schreiber also requested the installation of a streetlight at the entrance of Highway 510, citing difficulties in visibility that could lead to accidents.

Commissioners responded positively to Schreiber's request for road striping, indicating that they would address it promptly. However, they noted that the streetlight installation might take longer to evaluate, as it involves coordination with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). A TPR meeting with CDOT is scheduled for this week, where the issue will be raised.
