A request for a temporary expansion of the licensed premises for the Chop Tank River Yacht Club took center stage at the recent Board of License Commissioners meeting in Caroline County. David Whaley, representing the club, sought approval for a one-day extension to accommodate an outdoor event celebrating Joe Smith's 80th birthday.

The proposed expansion would extend the serving area approximately 60 feet into the parking lot, allowing for live music and additional festivities. Whaley assured the board that safety measures, including barricades and wristbands for guests, would be in place to manage the crowd effectively.
