During the Rockwall County Commissioners Court meeting on July 22, 2025, community recognition took center stage, highlighting the achievements of local youth and dedicated county employees.

The meeting began with a heartfelt acknowledgment of the Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117's Boys and Girls State program. Lorna Kippett, who oversees the program, proudly introduced 26 students who participated this year—a record number for the post. Furthermore, the Texas Association of Counties presented Rockwall County with a Safety Achievement Award, acknowledging the county's efforts in risk management and workplace safety.
