The plan includes burying the capsule in July 2026, around the time of the anniversary celebrations, with a goal of preserving local history for future generations.

"This project not only honors our past but also beautifies our city," Knickerbocker stated, emphasizing the dual purpose of the time capsule. He proposed placing it at the new city hall, ensuring it remains a focal point for the community. The estimated budget for the project is around $2,000, which would cover the capsule itself and a commemorative plaque.

The commission discussed potential partnerships with local businesses and the historical society to gather items for the capsule, including newspapers and technology that reflect current times. The idea of involving the community in selecting what goes into the capsule was met with enthusiasm, as it aims to foster a sense of ownership and pride among residents.
