Cedar Park is set to host its inaugural Workforce Summit on September 24, 2025, aimed at bridging the gap between local employers and talent pipelines. The event, taking place at Park Square from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature key speakers including Mayor Jim and Texas Workforce Commissioner Joe Esparza, who will discuss the importance of workforce development in the area.

The summit will include two main panels. The first, titled "Ready to Work Programs That Make an Impact," will showcase training providers that offer free upskilling and certification programs for residents in Williamson and Travis Counties. Notable participants include Capital Idea, Workforce Solutions, and Goodwill Certification Center, all of which aim to address local employment needs without imposing costs on employers.

The second panel, "Learning that Leads: The Role of Education and Talent Pipelines," will feature representatives from educational institutions such as Texas State Technical College and Leander ISD. This panel will focus on aligning educational offerings with industry demands, ensuring that local students are prepared for the workforce.

As of now, 41 local employers have been invited to participate, with RSVP deadlines set for August 24. The summit is designed specifically for Cedar Park employers, fostering partnerships that can enhance local job placement and training opportunities.
