Students from RSU 60/MSAD 60 recently returned from an enriching trip abroad, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey. The group, consisting of 20 students and three chaperones, embarked on their first international adventure, with many experiencing air travel for the first time. This trip not only broadened their horizons but also fostered independence and cultural understanding.
During their travels, students engaged with local customs and practices, such as the unique waste disposal methods they encountered. This exposure to different cultures was a highlight for many, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones. One student noted the importance of traveling with peers, stating that it allowed for shared experiences and the creation of lasting memories.
The trip also served as a practical application of language skills, with students practicing Spanish in real-world situations. This immersive experience reinforced their classroom learning and highlighted the value of cultural exchange. Students reported feeling more confident and independent, having navigated new environments and formed connections with their peers.
As the group reflected on their journey, they emphasized the importance of such experiences in shaping their perspectives and aspirations. Many expressed a desire to continue traveling and exploring new cultures, with plans to study abroad in college. This trip has not only enriched their educational experience but also inspired a lifelong passion for travel and cultural exploration.
