Lexington residents are encouraged to embrace sustainability this July by participating in Plastic Free July, a global initiative aimed at reducing plastic waste. The city’s sustainability team is inviting community members to swap out single-use plastic items for more sustainable and reusable alternatives.

Participants can start their journey at home, focusing on areas like the kitchen or bathroom, or even at their favorite stores. Simple changes, such as using a reusable flower carrier instead of plastic, can significantly reduce landfill contributions.

To join the movement, residents can share their efforts on social media by tagging Live Green Lehi on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Additionally, they can send photos, videos, or testimonials to sustainability@lexingtonky.gov.
