The Idaho Falls City Redevelopment Agency is taking significant steps toward revitalizing a key corner in the West Side of Idaho Falls, specifically at the intersection of Broadway and Skyline. During a recent meeting on July 17, 2025, agency members discussed plans for the redevelopment of this area, which has lagged behind in development for years.

Darren Pews, the regional manager for TOK Commercial, presented the Kingston family's vision for the site, which includes demolishing outdated buildings and constructing new facilities that could house gas stations, quick-service restaurants, and medical offices. The proposed design aims to create a pedestrian-friendly environment, with parking located away from the street to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area.

The project is expected to face challenges, including the need to address a lava vein beneath the site and the removal of existing structures, some of which contain asbestos. However, the redevelopment is seen as a crucial opportunity to improve the West Side and attract further economic investment.

Agency members expressed their support for the project, emphasizing its potential to enhance the community's appearance and functionality. They discussed the importance of ensuring that the corner looks attractive and serves the needs of local residents.

While no formal vote was taken during the meeting, the agency agreed to move forward with preparing a memorandum of understanding to facilitate the next steps in the redevelopment process. This will allow the Kingston family to submit a formal application for the project, with the goal of bringing a revitalized and vibrant space to the West Side of Idaho Falls.
