In a recent public fact-finding review, Clark County officials provided crucial details surrounding the officer-involved shooting of Ismael Barney Castillo. The incident occurred near the intersection of Cambridge and East Flamingo, specifically in the westbound travel lanes just east of Cambridge.

The officer involved, Sergeant Brett Brosnahan, was hired on March 19 and was 43 years old at the time of the shooting. He is assigned to the South Central Area Command and had his body-worn camera activated during the incident. Brosnahan fired six rounds from his Glock 19, a 9mm handgun.

Ismael Barney Castillo, the decedent, was 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighed 195 pounds, and resided in Las Vegas. Had he survived, he would have faced serious charges, including attempted murder of a police officer, two counts of resisting with a deadly weapon, and robbery with a deadly weapon. At the time of the incident, Castillo was armed with a 13.5-inch knife.
