Lake Dallas High School celebrated its top 10 graduates during the Lake Dallas ISD Board Meeting on May 19, 2025, highlighting the academic achievements and future aspirations of these outstanding students. Principal Molly Abelino praised the graduates for their dedication, leadership, and contributions to the school community, emphasizing the support they received from families and staff.

Valedictorian Amelia Villanaga was recognized for her impressive academic record, which includes a rigorous course load and over 30 college credit hours. She will pursue architectural engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Salutatorian Jiwon Kim, known for his leadership in the STEM club and football team, will also attend the University of Texas at Austin to study computer science, focusing on machine learning.

The remaining top graduates include Jayden Abraham, who plans to major in aerospace engineering; Adina Clemens, who will pursue an associate degree at Valley Creek College; and Hannah Davis, who aims to study ecology and conservation biology at Texas A&M College Station. Other graduates include Devraj Datta, who will major in construction management at the University of North Texas; Ray Maida, who will study mechanical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin; Emerson Melgaris, who plans to major in emergency medicine at Dallas College; Rebecca Skousen, who will attend Brigham Young University for music and math; and Kelsey, who aspires to study film and TV production at Loyola Marymount University.

In addition to recognizing the graduates, the meeting introduced new administrative staff members, including John Laubacher as Assistant Principal of Shady Shores Elementary and Dr. Colleen Bridal as Principal of Lake Dallas High School. Both bring extensive experience and a commitment to enhancing the educational environment.

The meeting concluded with a brief mention of the May teachers and employees of the month, reinforcing the district's dedication to recognizing excellence within its staff. As the board moved into executive session, the community looks forward to the positive impact these graduates and new leaders will have on Lake Dallas ISD.
