The squad aims to promote social-emotional learning, a key district initiative, by fostering kindness among students of all ages.

The evening began with a presentation highlighting the squad's formation and its first project: reading "A Little Spot of Kindness" to second graders. The Kindness Squad, made up of enthusiastic fourth graders, has already made a significant impact by engaging the entire school in a creative project involving kindness quilts and posters. Each student contributed by coloring squares that would be assembled into beautiful displays, showcasing their commitment to kindness.

As the Kindness Squad members stood proudly before the audience, they shared their personal definitions of kindness, emphasizing the importance of uplifting others through words and actions. The initiative is set to continue with activities leading up to World Kindness Day on November 13, further solidifying the school's commitment to creating a supportive and caring environment.

In addition to the Kindness Squad's inspiring efforts, the meeting recognized academic achievements, celebrating students who scored a perfect 850 on the 2024 New Jersey Student Learning Assessment. Honorees included William Connolly and Anna Rangel, among others, who were applauded for their hard work and dedication.
