The town's commitment to leveraging its natural assets, particularly the Pocomoke River, aims to boost tourism and improve quality of life for residents.

A key initiative discussed was the Royal Port Passage project, designed to connect the downtown shopping district to the Pocomoke Riverfront at Sturgis Park. This project will improve infrastructure, including stormwater management and pedestrian accessibility, while creating a vibrant gathering space that encourages commerce and investment.
