Richardson honors Luke Childs with Live Like Luke Day proclamation

During the Richardson City Council Work Session on July 14, 2025, the council convened to address several key topics, including the approval of previous meeting minutes and the presentation of proclamations honoring local achievements.

The proclamation recognized the establishment of the Live Like Luke Foundation, which supports families of children facing serious illnesses. The day was officially designated as June 24, 2025, coinciding with what would have been Luke's tenth birthday.

Additionally, the council recognized Aiden Hayes for his remarkable achievements in track and field. Hayes, a native of Richardson and a student at Texas State University, earned a second-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The mayor commended Hayes for his dedication and success, which not only brought pride to his university but also to the Richardson community.
