Planning Board reviews Kelly Tractor's application for heavy equipment dealership campus

The Miami-Dade County Planning Advisory Board convened on July 14, 2025, to discuss several key applications impacting local development. The meeting began with procedural announcements, including instructions for public participation and a summary of the agenda items.

The first significant item on the agenda was the application from Kelly Tractor Company, identified as CDMP 2023 13. Alex Dambach, the Planning Development Manager, presented the application, which seeks to amend the Comprehensive Development Master Plan (CDMP) to allow the transformation of a tree farm into a heavy equipment dealership campus. Dambach noted that while the majority of the property is outside the urban development boundary, it would remain so under the proposed changes.

Additionally, the board addressed another application, CDMP 2025 0002 from Atlantic Civil Inc. However, due to ongoing issues with the applicant, this item was deferred until the September meeting. The board will readvertise this application for that session.

The meeting underscored the board's role in reviewing and making recommendations on development applications, which will ultimately be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for final decisions. The discussions highlighted the ongoing efforts to manage growth and development in Miami-Dade County while considering community input and regulatory frameworks.
