Legislative Management appoints representatives to North Dakota Advanced Nuclear Energy Committee

The 69th Legislative Interim meeting of the Legislative Management took place on July 11, 2025, focusing on key administrative matters and discussions surrounding redistricting and advanced nuclear energy initiatives in North Dakota.

The committee acknowledged the inquiry and agreed to seek further guidance from the legislative council on this issue.

Following the redistricting discussion, Mr. Bjornsson introduced an administrative matter regarding the appointment of representatives to the Advanced Nuclear Energy Committee, established under House Bill 1020. This committee aims to explore advanced nuclear energy opportunities in North Dakota. Mr. Bjornsson reported that representatives from Basin Electric and Xcel Energy had expressed interest in participating and had submitted names for consideration.

The committee reviewed the nominations, which included Pam Gorman Prochaska from Xcel Energy and Gavin McCollum, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Basin Electric. A motion was made to appoint both individuals to the committee, which received a second and proceeded to a vote. The motion passed unanimously, confirming the appointments.
