Harris Center secures $8M for new children's facility in Burnett Balen Park

Harris County is set to enhance its support for vulnerable youth with the announcement of an $8 million funding allocation for a new facility aimed at children in the child protective services system. Amanda Jones from the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD shared this significant development during the Commissioners Court meeting on July 10, 2025. The facility will be constructed in Burnett Balen Park, located in Precinct 4, with the county providing an in-kind match to support the project.
