During the meeting, city officials highlighted the dire conditions of the structure, which has been the site of criminal activity, including a recent shooting. Officer Armendales from the Central Safe Unit described the property as one of the worst he has encountered, noting that the floors were covered in feces and urine, making it hazardous for officers conducting a warrant. He emphasized the risks posed by the deteriorating structure, which has attracted individuals and posed a threat to public safety.

The board's decision mandates that the property be demolished within 30 days and secured against trespassers. This action reflects ongoing efforts by city officials to address dangerous buildings that compromise community safety and health.

In addition to the Delgado Street property, the board also reviewed another structure at 230 Astor Street, which is under consideration for demolition. The owner has not provided necessary documentation to prove the feasibility of repairs, and the property has been confirmed as ineligible for historic designation.
