Transdev's Paul Beharin details Milwaukee operations and renovation delays

Transdev's commitment to improving Milwaukee's transit services took center stage at the Milwaukee County Committee on Transportation and Transit meeting on July 9, 2025. Paul Beharin, Senior Vice President of Operations for Transdev, addressed concerns regarding the efficiency and performance of the Transit Plus program, emphasizing ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery.

Beharin acknowledged that while the program's performance aligns with peer standards, there is still room for improvement. "We have a team of local people who are dedicated every day to deliver safe and on-time service to the riders," he stated, highlighting a recent uptick in efficiency following the implementation of a new schedule aimed at meeting Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) standards.

The discussion also touched on the long-awaited renovations at the Thirteenth and Layton location, which have faced delays due to increased requirements from the city of Milwaukee. Beharin assured committee members that they are working closely with contractors to finalize the scope of work, with hopes to commence renovations this summer.

Committee members raised questions about Transdev's operational challenges, including the use of routing software and the timeline for achieving service standards. Beharin confirmed that they are using the widely recognized Trapeze software for scheduling, which is standard across North America.

As the meeting concluded, Beharin reiterated Transdev's commitment to continuous improvement and meeting budgetary requirements, signaling a proactive approach to addressing the needs of Milwaukee County residents.
