RPC approves zone changes for public storage and single-family residences in Pahrump

The Nye County Pahrump Regional Planning Commission (RPC) convened on July 9, 2025, to discuss several key zoning changes and development applications that could significantly impact the local community.

One of the most notable discussions centered around the approval of a conditional use permit (CUP) for the construction of four single-family residences on a multi-family zoned parcel located at 1881 East Feather Street. This project, proposed by Bridal LLC and managed by Civil Wise Services Inc., aims to transform the site into a residential complex featuring two-story homes designed to provide safe and comfortable housing for families in Pahrump. The RPC staff recommended approval, highlighting the project’s compliance with county codes and its potential to enhance local housing options.

In addition to the residential project, the RPC reviewed previous zoning changes, including a conforming zone change from neighborhood commercial to residential estate for a property at 1021 East Manse Road, which was approved by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) last month. Another significant item discussed was the application for a zone change from light industrial to heavy industrial for parcels at 1401 and 1441 East Pink Way, which was recommended for denial by the RPC and will be addressed at the upcoming BOCC meeting.

The RPC also approved an application to abandon a public utility easement at 103 Lucardo Road, which was deemed necessary to accommodate existing infrastructure and ensure safety. The application received unanimous support from the commission, reflecting a collaborative effort to streamline local development processes.
