Bank County investigates nuisance violations at Sherrard property on Titus Road

Following the initial inspection, a notice of violation was sent to the property owner, but it was returned unclaimed. A subsequent conversation with the owner's son indicated a willingness to address the issues. Despite some progress noted in May, including the removal of a large pile of debris, many violations remained unresolved.

By June 30, further discussions with the owner's son revealed ongoing efforts to clean up the property, although significant work was still required. Hubbard noted that while improvements had been made, derelict vehicles and unsafe structures continued to pose problems.

The hearing underscored the importance of property maintenance and compliance with local codes, as the county seeks to ensure community standards are upheld. The next steps will involve continued monitoring of the property to ensure that the necessary corrections are completed.
