Development plan introduces 112 high-end condominiums and community space at Old Hickory Lake

A new vision for Gallatin's waterfront is taking shape, promising a vibrant neighborhood gathering space that will feature shops, boutiques, and 112 luxury condominiums. This plan marks a significant reduction in density from a previously approved 280 units, prioritizing open space and walkability along the scenic Old Hickory Lake.

The development aims to create a lively waterfront atmosphere where residents and visitors can relax and enjoy the lake. The US Army Corps of Engineers has already granted a lease for marina construction, paving the way for this exciting project. Notably, the plan has shifted away from a previously proposed hotel and dry storage building, focusing instead on high-quality local businesses. The developers have assured the community that there will be no fast-food chains or gimmicky attractions, instead envisioning charming establishments like ice cream shops, coffee houses, and boutiques.

On the residential front, the 112 condominiums are designed as upscale, for-sale units, with prices expected to exceed $2 million for select properties. Before finalizing architectural designs, the developers plan to hold a workshop to gather community input on various aspects, including floor plans and rental restrictions. These restrictions will be formalized through recorded covenants, ensuring that the community's needs and concerns are addressed.

Parking has also been a key consideration, with plans for ample space to accommodate vehicles, golf carts, and bicycles, as well as overflow areas for marina users and visitors.
