Committee recommends $75K for green infrastructure analysis in Southwest Streetscape Plan

By comparing the inland pilot with the adjacent riverfront project, the city hopes to gather valuable insights that can inform broader applications across Little Havana and similar neighborhoods.

Another significant discussion point was the recommendation to allocate funds for acquiring flood-prone properties to convert them into stormwater parks. This strategy is designed to manage localized flooding, improve water quality, and provide recreational spaces, particularly in underserved neighborhoods. The parks would help alleviate pressure on the city's drainage system and reduce long-term infrastructure costs.
