Boulder hosts Juneteenth celebrations and immigrant heritage storytelling events

The Boulder City Human Relations Committee convened on June 21, 2025, to discuss upcoming community events and initiatives. The meeting highlighted the significance of Juneteenth, with a flag-raising ceremony held earlier in the week. The committee announced that city offices would be closed on Thursday in observance of the holiday, which will feature a celebration from 4 PM to 9 PM, including music and speakers.

On Saturday, June 21, the Dairy Arts Center will host "What's Your Immigrant Heritage Story," presented by Modus Playback Theater. Furthermore, the Museum of Boulder will showcase a display titled "Travelers in History and Art" from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, featuring work from students participating in a week-long summer camp.

The committee also noted that a discussion with the city council is scheduled for October 21, which will be part of the October Human Relations Committee meeting. Members were encouraged to reach out to staff with any questions or topics they would like addressed in future updates.
