One notable change is the extension of the deadline for the completion of Main Street and Lomond Spur to June 30, 2026. This adjustment is intended to synchronize with the construction schedule of adjacent developments.
Another key amendment involves a request for a zero-foot building setback at the roundabout. This change raised questions among commissioners regarding safety and sight lines for drivers. However, city engineers assured that the proposed setback would not compromise safety, as the buildings would be set back adequately from the street and a shared-use path would be maintained.
Additionally, the commission discussed relocating on-street parking from one side of Praslin Pass to the other. This adjustment aims to enhance parking availability while ensuring that it does not interfere with residential driveways. The change was deemed necessary to support the overall density and functionality of the development.
After a public hearing, the commission unanimously approved the amendments, with a vote of 6-0. The approval allows the developers to proceed with their plans while ensuring that the project aligns with the city’s development goals.
