In a significant move to support local businesses, Jefferson County officials announced the distribution of $64,784 in small business grants during the Commissioner Meeting on July 3, 2025. This funding, sourced from COVID relief funds, aims to bolster the local economy as it continues to recover from the pandemic's impact.
A total of 27 businesses will benefit from this initiative, with varying grant amounts tailored to each recipient's needs. Notably, Tailgaters Bar and Grill and Chief Fitness LLC each received $7,392. Five other businesses, including Blade Styling Salon and Mary Shear Perfection, were awarded $4,000 each. Additionally, 12 other local enterprises, such as Ashby's Auto Detailing and Honey Bean Coffee Company, received grants of $1,500.
This funding marks the conclusion of the county's COVID relief efforts, as all available funds have now been allocated. The decision reflects a commitment to fostering economic resilience and supporting the community's recovery. As the county wraps up this program, officials indicated that further reporting will be necessary to ensure transparency and accountability in the distribution of these funds.
