Hiram City Council adopts new vision and mission statements for community growth

In the heart of Hiram City Hall, a sense of purpose filled the air as city officials gathered for the July 1, 2025, regular session. One of the highlights of the evening was the adoption of a new vision and mission statement, crafted with the help of community member Pete Pruzinski during a recent retreat. The vision statement paints Hiram as a vibrant city at the historical crossroads of Northwest Georgia, emphasizing its unique blend of small-town charm and progressive growth. It aims to create opportunities in various directions, supported by a robust enterprise district and a diverse community. The mission statement complements this vision, committing to deliver exceptional services while continually improving the quality of life for all residents and visitors.

As the council members moved to adopt these statements, a suggestion arose to display them prominently for all to see, ensuring that the community remains connected to its guiding principles. This idea was met with enthusiasm, highlighting the council's commitment to transparency and engagement.

In addition to the vision statements, the council authorized the mayor to renew an agreement with the Old Town Hiram Business Association regarding the distribution of hotel-motel excise tax funds, allocating 100% of the disbursement to support local businesses. This decision reflects the city’s ongoing efforts to bolster its economic engine and support community initiatives.
