In a recent meeting held on July 2, 2025, representatives from KeyBank presented plans for a new drive-up ATM and canopy in New Rochelle, following damage caused by a windstorm that destroyed the existing structure. Forrest Page, an architect from Agency Architects in Cleveland, Ohio, outlined the project, emphasizing the need for a sturdier design that meets the bank's new national standards.
The proposed canopy will be installed in the same location as the previous one, featuring enhanced structural support to withstand future weather events. The design includes a thick concrete base and two attachment legs, which are intended to provide shelter for customers using the ATM during inclement weather. The new ATM will also replace the older model, incorporating updated security features and design elements.
In addition to the canopy and ATM, KeyBank plans to refresh the exterior signage to align with their updated branding, including a new logo. The canopy will be internally lit, enhancing visibility and safety for users at night. The meeting also touched on the repainting of drive-up lanes and the installation of a clearance bar to prevent vehicle collisions with the structure.
The discussions highlighted the bank's commitment to improving customer experience and safety while modernizing its facilities in New Rochelle. As the project moves forward, community members can expect a more resilient and visually appealing banking environment. The next steps will involve finalizing the design and obtaining necessary approvals for construction.
