Portsmouth High School celebrated a triumphant spring athletic season during the recent School Committee meeting, highlighting standout achievements in track and field and golf.
The spotlight shone on Sean Gray, a rising senior who claimed the state championship in the 3,000-meter event for boys' outdoor track and field. Although Gray was unable to attend the meeting due to college visits, his victory was met with enthusiastic congratulations from the committee.
In addition to individual accolades, the Portsmouth High School golf team was recognized for their impressive performance, winning the Division 2 state championship. Team members, including Kyle Balawa, Kyler Booth, Liam Casey, Patrick Ewert Chouinard, Logan Craft, and Ryan Grant, were honored with certificates and gathered for a team photo to commemorate their achievement.
These victories not only showcase the talent and dedication of Portsmouth's student-athletes but also foster a sense of pride within the community as they look forward to future successes.
