Tennessee Tech University celebrated the achievements of its faculty during the recent Board of Trustees meeting, highlighting the contributions of three distinguished educators.

Dr. Usmeer, director of the CEROT Cybersecurity Education, Research, and Outreach Center, was recognized for his transformative research initiatives that have significantly enhanced the university's national and international profile in cybersecurity. His leadership has not only elevated Tennessee Tech's reputation but also impacted research on a broader scale.

Dr. Charles Dao, a lecturer in economics, finance, and marketing within the College of Business, received the Outstanding Faculty Award in Teaching for his exceptional course design and commitment to student engagement. His dedication to fostering teamwork and innovative teaching methods has made a notable difference in student success.

Although unable to attend, Dr. Crystal Kennedy, an assistant professor in the College of Education and Human Sciences, was also honored with the Outstanding Faculty Award in Teaching for tenured and tenure-track faculty. She is recognized for her student-centered teaching approach, which fosters lasting relationships and utilizes new technologies to enhance problem-solving skills among her students.
