Dr. Kavner brings over 20 years of educational experience to the table, having begun her career as a teaching assistant before progressing through various teaching roles, including kindergarten, second grade, third grade, and special education. Her journey into school leadership began in 2016, and since 2019, she has made significant contributions to the Mid-Del community, serving as both assistant principal and head principal at several schools, including Highland Park and Soldier Creek, before landing at Tinker.

Her academic credentials are impressive, with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Central Oklahoma, followed by a master's and doctorate in educational leadership from Southern Nazarene University. Dr. Kavner expressed her gratitude to her former professor, Ms. Susanna Bennett Aspaugh, for laying a strong foundation at Tinker Elementary, a legacy she is committed to honoring and expanding.

In her vision for Tinker, Dr. Kavner emphasized the importance of creating a nurturing school culture. She aims to ensure that students feel safe and valued, teachers receive the support they need, and families are welcomed and involved in the school community.
