Interborough School District celebrates student achievements and recognizes PBIS compliance

The Interboro School District celebrated significant student achievements during its June 2025 School Board Meeting, highlighting a series of accomplishments that underscore the district's commitment to education and community engagement.

One of the key discussions centered around the unfortunate cancellation of the annual flag ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery due to weather conditions. Despite this setback, over 85 students from grades 7 through 12 had signed up to participate, showcasing their eagerness to honor veterans. The district expressed optimism for next year’s event, with hopes for better weather and timely arrival of flags.

In addition to the flag ceremony, the meeting recognized the winners of a Veterans Day STEM poem contest, with students from various community schools earning accolades. Notable winners included Abigail Molly and Lauren Neary from Denikom School, and Emma Duffy from Lynn Olden School, among others.

The district also celebrated its success in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), achieving tier 1 fidelity across all schools. This year marked the first compliance check for tier 2 PBIS, with several schools, including Prospect Park and Tinnicum, scoring 90% or higher. The board acknowledged the hard work of coordinators and teachers who contributed to this achievement.

Furthermore, the Reading Olympics saw Lehi Olden's elementary team clinch first place, marking a successful year with the introduction of two middle school teams.

As the meeting concluded, the district encouraged families to check the website for summer reading resources and announced the next board work session scheduled for July 14, 2025. The meeting underscored the district's dedication to fostering a supportive and engaging educational environment for its students.
