With a student body of approximately 343, nearly half of whom are Hispanic or speak Spanish, Centennial is a reflection of the rich cultural tapestry of the community. Lane noted that 88% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, underscoring the school’s dedication to supporting families in need.
The meeting featured a presentation on the school's diverse demographics and the importance of collaboration among students. CLDE teacher Kim Crumpagle shared insights about the staff, revealing that 28% live within the district, fostering a strong connection to the community. Many staff members have dedicated years to Centennial, with some serving for over two decades.
Students also took the stage to express their appreciation for the supportive environment. They highlighted events like Multiculture Day, where students celebrated authors from various cultures, reinforcing the school's mission to embrace diversity and promote understanding.
