The Delaware County Library is gearing up for an exciting summer with a series of engaging community events aimed at families and individuals. One of the highlights is a mini golf event scheduled for Sunday, July 13, where participants will navigate through bookshelves and themed obstacles. This unique experience requires preregistration, with tee times available every 15 minutes from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Additionally, a special teen-only version will take place on Saturday, July 12, from 5 to 8 PM, featuring contributions from teen volunteers who are helping to design the course and plan related activities.
In addition to the mini golf, the library has introduced a Tuesday evening DIY craft night for adults. Past projects have included jewelry making and mocktails, with July's project focusing on creating colorful seashells using decoupage techniques.
The library is also hosting a Bollywood dance project on July 31, inviting participants of all ages to immerse themselves in the vibrant music and rhythms of India while learning fun dance moves.
Moreover, the library continues to support community needs by hosting Red Cross blood drives, having collected 183 units of blood this year. They have also processed 764 new passport applications, demonstrating their commitment to serving the public in various ways.
These initiatives reflect the library's dedication to fostering community engagement and providing valuable resources and activities for residents of all ages.
