The Upper Darby Municipal Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB) showcased its growth and community impact during a recent presentation at the Library Services Board of Directors meeting. Established in 2018, TAB has evolved into a vibrant group of 35 teens from grades 7 to 12, dedicated to empowering youth and enhancing library services.
During the meeting, program coordinator highlighted the board's journey, emphasizing that their recent trip to Harrisburg was not a one-time event but the culmination of years of effort and collaboration. Each member introduced themselves, sharing their experiences and what they love about being part of TAB. From fostering creativity to building community connections, the teens expressed their commitment to making a difference.
TAB meets monthly to plan significant community events, including five large gatherings each year, such as the popular Fall Fest. Their leadership forum, which includes local officials like Mayor Brown and Senator Kearney, underscores their role in shaping library services and engaging with community leaders.
The presentation not only highlighted the board's achievements but also reinforced their mission: to serve, lead, and inspire. As TAB continues to grow stronger, its members are poised to make an even greater impact on the Upper Darby community.
