This includes plans for constructing pavilions and ensuring pedestrian access to the waterfront, along with future docks or piers.

Key highlights of the project include extensive improvements to North Union Street and the Orinoco Street end. The project is set to contribute significantly to the waterfront plan, with an investment of $2.7 million allocated for open space improvements. It also aims to enhance affordable housing, support bike share initiatives, and promote public art.

City staff recommended approval of the Development Special Use Permit (DSUP), noting that the applicant has agreed to incorporate changes based on feedback received during the process. The meeting concluded with a consensus on the project's potential benefits for the community and the waterfront area.
