This initiative aims to assist students attending vocational schools, two-year colleges, or four-year universities, as well as those returning to education.

Commissioner Marlon Bolton began the scholarship presentations by introducing the first recipient, Kristen Fitz Patrick, who will attend Florida State University for a bachelor's degree in actual science. Following her, Deja Boy shared her plans to complete a master's in mental health counseling at the University of Miami, with aspirations for an executive doctorate in higher education leadership.

Other notable recipients included Sasha Gay Powell, who is finishing her nursing degree at Broward College, and Victoria Sedenos, pursuing a bachelor's in human resources management at Miami Dade College. The commissioners encouraged each student to share their educational goals, fostering a supportive atmosphere.

District 3's recipients were also recognized, with Carson Dudich planning to study sports law at Stetson University and Andre Taylor pursuing a bachelor's in cybersecurity at the University of Maryland. The presentations continued with various students from District 4, including Alejandra Abiolu, who is returning to Broward College for criminal justice, and Peter Satter, who will study law at Nova Southeastern University.

The meeting concluded with a collective celebration of the students' achievements, emphasizing the importance of education and community support. The commissioners expressed their commitment to continuing this scholarship program, reinforcing the city's dedication to investing in the future of its youth.
