The high injury network, which comprises about 5% of the city's streets—approximately 200 miles—accounts for a staggering 43% of the most severe crashes, including fatalities and incapacitating injuries. This data-driven approach allows city planners and safety advocates to focus their efforts on the areas that need it most, similar to how a doctor assesses a patient's health.

Additionally, the task force is working on a vulnerable road user high-risk network, which aims to protect pedestrians, cyclists, and other non-motorized road users.
