Village board approves $2.47M road repairs and stormwater system for John Street

The Village of Hortonville, Wisconsin, held a government meeting on June 21, 2025, to discuss several key infrastructure projects and policy amendments. The meeting began with a review of bids for two significant road projects: the milling and overlay of John Street and Fountain Court, which includes the installation of a new storm sewer system. The lowest bid was submitted by Northeast Asphalt, totaling approximately $247,435.15.

The project is expected to begin in September, after local baseball tournaments conclude, to minimize disruption. Following the road project discussions, the council addressed an amendment to the water billing policy concerning pool refills. The new policy will allow residents to receive credits based on actual water usage rather than the size of their pools, simplifying the process for residents refilling their pools.

The meeting also included a discussion on reimbursement for stormwater expansion related to the Terrace Manor subdivision. The village agreed to reimburse the developer up to $71,360 for costs incurred in upsizing stormwater infrastructure, as stipulated in their agreement.

Lastly, the council reviewed and amended the refund policy for Alonzo Park reservations. The updated policy requires a 30-day notice for cancellations to qualify for a full refund, aiming to clarify expectations for shelter rentals.
