One of the key updates was on the Cobblestone Hotel, which is nearing completion with construction reaching the second floor. The hotel is expected to open in May 2026. Additionally, the board is working with Mandel on a multifamily residential development, despite some slowdowns. A term sheet has been established, and discussions on a development agreement are ongoing.

The meeting also covered the completion of the Bridal Walk apartments and the new industrial building and office for WILDEK, which are now operational. The board noted the closure of Overland Filter and other developments in the area, including a termination resolution for Quick Trip Pizza Ranch, which was effective in 2025.

Looking ahead, the board discussed the five-year closure strategy for TIDs. TID 12, which encompasses the Waukesha Corporate Park, is set to close in 2027, along with the Standard Theater area near Arcadia and Highway 164. The board anticipates requesting the common council to extend TID 11 for affordable housing, with a planned closure in 2028. Furthermore, a partial closure of TID 17 is projected for 2029, which would involve the removal of certain parcels from the downtown area.
