Superintendent Doctor Bedell praised the culmination of hard work, noting that 638 seniors from the AVID program collectively earned nearly $111.4 million in scholarship offers this year—a staggering 34% increase from the previous year. Glen Burnie High School led the charge with a record $24.5 million in offers, showcasing the district's commitment to academic excellence.

The meeting also celebrated the success of various graduation ceremonies held across multiple schools, with Doctor Bedell expressing gratitude to the staff and volunteers who made these events possible. He emphasized the importance of relationships and community support in fostering student success, stating, "This graduating class of 2025 did belong, did grow, and did succeed."

In addition to academic achievements, the session highlighted the district's athletic accomplishments, with AACPS schools bringing home seven state championships this spring. Over 13,000 students participated in athletics, with 93% of teams achieving a GPA over 3.0, underscoring the balance between academics and sports.

The meeting concluded with a nod to the district's communication team, which recently won multiple national awards, further enhancing the district's reputation. As the summer approaches, the focus will shift to staffing and preparations for the upcoming school year, with a commitment to maintaining high standards and support for all students.
