Oakdale City Council approves $66K purchase of utility truck for wastewater operations

In addition to towing services, the council addressed the pressing need to replace a 34-year-old utility truck used by the wastewater treatment plant. The aging vehicle, a 1991 Ford Super Duty, has exceeded its service life and is no longer functional for the demands of modern operations. The council approved the purchase of a new 2024 Ford Super Duty truck for $66,383.25, which will be funded through the Sewer Capital Replacement Fund. This new vehicle will enhance the efficiency of maintenance operations and improve safety for workers by including a lift gate, reducing the risk associated with manual lifting.

As the meeting concluded, the council decided to revisit the towing services resolution on July 7, allowing time for further discussions on insurance requirements and current towing fees.
