Kranz, who passed away earlier this year, was remembered for his extensive contributions to both his family and community. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and later had a successful career in aerospace and logistics, notably preparing Air Force One for new administrations. His commitment to civic engagement was evident through his role as treasurer for Senator Chuck Schumer for over 40 years. Kranz's legacy is marked by his devotion to his wife, Betty, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage, and his active participation in community causes, including support for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Following this tribute, Assemblymember Pellerin spoke in remembrance of Emily Jean Carpenter, a vibrant 19-year-old who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Carpenter was a beloved student athlete and advocate for teens facing similar health challenges. She founded Golden Positivity, a nonprofit aimed at uplifting young cancer patients, and left a lasting impact on her community through her positivity and resilience. Her family, including her parents and sister, were present in the gallery to honor her memory.

The Assembly observed a moment of silence to reflect on the profound contributions of both Kranz and Carpenter, emphasizing the importance of their legacies in inspiring future generations.
