Truckee High School celebrated its remarkable Class of 2025 during the commencement ceremony on June 7, 2025, highlighting the exceptional achievements of its top students. Brynn Kidd, the salutatorian, earned an impressive weighted GPA of 4.6 and an unweighted GPA of 3.95, completing 11 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and 10 college classes. Her leadership roles included serving as co-president of the Power Club and a delegate for the School Site Council. Notably, Brynn was recognized as one of California's outstanding youth advocates by the California Assembly for her work in policy change at the state capitol. She will attend Lehigh University on a full merit scholarship, aiming to double major in global studies and psychology.
Sofia Martin, the valedictorian, also showcased outstanding academic prowess with a weighted GPA of 4.5 and an unweighted GPA of 4.0. She completed 12 AP classes and 7 college courses, while leading the Model UN Club and captaining the Nordic C team. Sofia's commitment to community service was evident through her work with the Nevada County Youth Commission and her initiative to bridge cultural divides at Truckee High School. She plans to study international relations and linguistics at Princeton University after furthering her Arabic studies in Morocco through a U.S. State Department scholarship.
