Graduation day at Farmville Central High School was a momentous occasion as Pitt County Schools celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2025. During the ceremony, the spotlight shone brightly on the academic accomplishments of the graduating seniors, with special recognition given to those earning Latin honors for their outstanding performance.
Beginning with the Class of 2019, Pitt County Schools has implemented a system of Latin honors to acknowledge students who excel academically. Graduates were recognized with distinctions such as ***Laude*** for GPAs between 3.75 and 3.99, ***Magna Laude*** for GPAs from 4.0 to 4.249, and ***Summa Laude*** for those achieving GPAs of 4.25 or higher. These students proudly received pins to adorn their graduation stoles, symbolizing their hard work and dedication.
In addition to Latin honors, the program highlighted numerous other academic achievements, including recognition as North Carolina Academic Scholars and the awarding of honor cords, medals, and stoles. Notably, ten students had already graduated from Pitt Community College with their Associate degrees, showcasing their commitment to education beyond high school.
As the ceremony progressed, the excitement built for the moment everyone had been waiting for—the presentation of diplomas. Graduates were called forward row by row, with family and friends encouraged to maintain a respectful atmosphere to honor each student's special moment.
The graduation ceremony not only celebrated individual achievements but also marked the culmination of four years of hard work for the Class of 2025. The event served as a reminder of the dedication and perseverance of these students as they embark on their next chapter.
