Graduates of North Pitt High School were celebrated in a heartfelt ceremony on June 7, 2025, as they marked a significant milestone in their educational journey. Superintendent of Pitt County Schools, in a stirring address, emphasized the importance of perseverance and community support, stating, “Your diploma is not the finish line. It's a passport.” He encouraged graduates to embrace their future paths, whether in college, the workforce, or the military, and to contribute their unique voices and compassion to the world.
The superintendent praised the Class of 2025 for their exceptional ability to build relationships, noting their strong connections with teachers and staff. “You sought and valued relationships,” he remarked, highlighting how this class reminded the community of the importance of bonds and mentorship.
Salutatorian Gracie Lilly and Valedictorian Morgan Meeks delivered inspiring speeches that resonated with their peers. Gracie reflected on the growth and challenges faced during their high school years, while Morgan urged her classmates to embrace future struggles with resilience, quoting Nelson Mandela on the importance of perseverance. “We may fall and falter, but if we pick ourselves up and keep going, we will achieve great successes,” she stated.
As the ceremony concluded, the sense of pride and hope for the future was palpable. The Class of 2025 left the stage not just as graduates but as empowered individuals ready to take on the world, embodying the spirit of their school and community.
