Residents voiced their frustrations over a specific property on Malone Avenue, which has been vacant for 15 years and has become a hotspot for illegal activity, including a recent fire allegedly caused by trespassers.

Arthur Treviño, a 79-year-old resident living nearby, shared his distress over the abandoned house, noting that he has witnessed numerous incidents involving vagrants and fires. Despite his efforts to alert city officials and document these occurrences, he expressed disappointment at the lack of action taken to address the dangerous situation. Treviño's testimony underscored the growing anxiety among neighbors who fear for their safety due to the deteriorating condition of the property.

In response to these concerns, board member Joe Solís proposed a motion to demolish the property at 1035 Malone Avenue within 30 days, citing violations of city codes. The motion passed unanimously, reflecting the board's commitment to addressing public safety issues and improving neighborhood conditions.

Additionally, the board discussed another property located at 15 North Day Road, which is also recommended for demolition. This property has been unresponsive to notifications and is situated near a learning center, raising further concerns about its impact on the community.
