Tiffany Vestal appointed new principal of Thorne Elementary School

The Temple Independent School District (TISD) has announced the appointment of Tiffany Vestal as the new principal of Thorne Elementary School, a decision made during the recent school board meeting on June 9, 2025. Vestal brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having joined the TISD family in 2011 as a math and science teacher at Hector P. Garcia Elementary.

Vestal holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University, obtained in 2005, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University, earned in 2010. Her career within TISD has included positions as an instructional coach at Jefferson Elementary and as assistant principal at Hills Elementary since February 2019.

Before her tenure at TISD, Vestal taught math and science at Hearne ISD and College Station ISD. She is a dedicated educator and family person, married for 16 years to her husband Ian, and they have two daughters, Teagan and Audrey, who will be attending Bonham Middle School and Thorne Elementary, respectively.

The school board's decision to appoint Vestal is expected to positively impact the Thorne Elementary community, as her extensive background in education and leadership positions her well to foster a supportive and effective learning environment for students.
